First Annual JP-US Innovation Awards Symposium​​

The Japan Society of Northern California congratulates the winners of the 2011 Japan-US Innovation in Business and Technology Awards, presented at the inaugural Japan-US Innovation Day at Stanford University on July 15th, 2011.

The five outstanding winners exemplify the dynamism of innovative Japanese and US companies across the Pacific in the three Japan-US Innovation Award categories:

World Changers:

Twitter – USA
DeNA – Japan

Emerging Leaders:

SanBio – Japan
Tesla Motors – USA

Intrapreneurs:

Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation – Japan

The inaugural Innovation Awards event included a keynote speech by Draper Fisher Jurvetson Managing Director Steve Jurvetson and a message from US Ambassador to Japan John Roos.Some 180 attendees gathered at Stanford University’s MacKenzie Hall for the event, co-presented by Stanford’s US-Asia Technology Management Center.

The Japan-US Innovation Awards and Innovation Day conference honors companies from both countries that have generated outstanding innovations in their technologies or business models while building bridges across the Pacific. The Awards Process is governed by a global Innovation Advisory Council (IAC) of leading business, academic and non-profit representatives.
